Sin embargo, su utilidad va m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la captura de fotos y videos desde el aire; los drones tambi\u00e9n pueden operar como robots, espec\u00edficamente como robots a\u00e9reos. Esto es posible gracias a la incorporaci\u00f3n de computadoras a bordo, que les permiten procesar informaci\u00f3n obtenida a trav\u00e9s de sus sensores y, con ello, generar comandos para sus motores, lo que permite el control del vuelo de manera aut\u00f3noma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para incentivar y promover el desarrollo de drones aut\u00f3nomos en M\u00e9xico, el TMR organiza la categor\u00eda de drones aut\u00f3nomos, en la que se plantean distintos retos o misiones de vuelo a ser ejecutados por un dron. Este puede ser un modelo comercial, un dron armado o un dise\u00f1o original. No obstante, el enfoque principal de la competencia radica en el desarrollo de la inteligencia artificial que permita al dron ejecutar tareas de manera aut\u00f3noma.
