General description<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal of the international RoboCup initiative is to develop a team of humanoid robots that is capable of winning against the official human football world champion team by 2050. In a sense, the RoboCup challenge is the successor to the chess challenge for artificial intelligence ( a computer to beat the human World Chess Champion) that was settled in 1997 when Deep Blue won against Garry Kasparow. There are currently several different RoboCup soccer leagues that focus on different aspects of this challenge. The Humanoid League is one of the most dynamically progressing leagues and the closest to the 2050 goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Humanoid KidSize<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Humanoid League, autonomous robots with a human-like body and human-like senses play soccer against each other. Unlike humanoid robots outside of the Humanoid League, the task of perception and modeling of the world is not simplified by the use of non-human range sensors. In addition to soccer competitions, technical challenges are held. Dynamic walking, running and kicking the ball while maintaining balance, visual perception of the ball, other players and the field, self-location and team play are some of the many research topics investigated at Humanoid League. . Some of the world’s best autonomous humanoid robots compete in the RoboCup Humanoid League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
